What Does Scabies Look Like?

A scabies mite infestation begins when a fertilized female cuts into your skin and burrows in the upper epidermis of your skin. She will lay eggs in the burrow. As she lays 1-3 eggs a day she produces secretions that often cause an allergic reaction, hence the reason for so much itching.

So, what does scabies look like? Review the photo below. The skin of this human host was mis-diagnosed as first an allergic reaction to the sun, when staying out of the sun and taking antihistamines did not work, it was then mis-diagnosed as diabetes related.

Only the allergist and the dermatologist were able to make a correct diagnosis. It was scabies!

The above photo shows the scars left from burrowing scabies mites or human mites. They will literally bust up your skin.

For myself, I did not know what scabies looked like or the effects of scabies mites on my skin.

However, I knew that it must have been some kind of a mite when my whole family got it.

My daughter was a host of the mite for a long time before it was finally diagnosed correctly. Interestingly enough, my daughter's scars did not look like something was eating at her skin. She had these bumps all over her thighs that would itch like crazy, causing her to cry herself to sleep at night. I felt sad and I couldn't help her. I thought that the Doctor's recommendations was going to work. The first Doctor diagnosed her with having eczema. Why? I guess because the skin around my daughters knees were getting white. It didn't look like burrowing mites at all. It left white scars on her elbows and knees.

Then, only at night, would these prickling heat like rash pop up. So, the Dr. said to purchase oatmeal soap and a non-soap cleanser from the local drug store. I was so excited after I purchased the items. I immediately took her home to give her a bath. I was bummed to find out it did not help.

We were able to treat her with a natural essential oil based remedy that helped to clear up the majority of her scars. She no longer has scabbing on her body, however, the deeper wounds are still trying to heal.

We also soaked her in an enzyme bath, then soaked again with the natural essential oil based mix.

Although, you may have killed the scabies mites you will continue to experience allergic reactions or itching on your body for up to 3 weeks.

What I've done to tolerate the itching was rub an essential oil mix on my body that includes coconut oil, olive oil, and an alkaline based oil to help with the itching and continued protection against reinfestation.

The battle against scabies for our family has been tedious and ongoing. Often times, tiresome since there are so many of us infected at one time. We all need to be treated at the same time or risk being reinfested.

The mite can come back at any time.

Can scabies cause puss?

Yes, sometimes leading to empetigo like conditions.

The places that the scabies caused a puss on my skin were especially in highly concentrated areas of fat. The scabies sores turned into puss were often found on my breasts and by my vagina.

It was quite gross. I used the essential oil product to dry it out, it took two days to heal with continuous effort.

You need to stay on top of it with all the spraying, the rubbing, the cleaning before this thing goes away.

Do not give up, you will definitely reach the light at the end of the tunnel and you can feel whole again.

Scabies Killer is a great product. So is Kleen Green. I love the natural enzymes these companies create. It's safe and non-toxic formula. Will not cause cancer and will take some patience, but applying daily, all the time is the key to become scabies free.
