Signs Symptoms of Scabies

It has been a month since my daughter was properly diagnosed with scabies and we could immediately treat her itchy, patchy, scarred up skin.

The burrowing scabies were causing white spots around her knees and elbows.

There is a 10 to 14 day period between the time you are infected with the mite to the time you feel it crawling in your skin.

When I say crawling, "in" your skin, I mean just that. It will definitely scar up your body and are most often found on the webbing of your fingers, under your arms, under your breasts or on chest, your knees, elbows and feet.

It is definitely easy to get the infection in areas that were not previously infected by scratching an infected area and contaminating another part of your body.

The difference between bed bugs and scabies is that the scabies will burrow in your skin. Hence, the product you use to get rid of the scabies will have to have the ability to penetrate into your skin to kill any eggs and fertilized females that are under your skin.

Scabies tend to be most prevelant on your body at night. You will definitely have a sleepless itchy night. The mites will be on your bedding and clothing and at night will crawl up to their warm host bodies (you) and begin it's nightly ritual, laying eggs.

Male mites do not crawl beneath your skin. Getting rid of mites is extremely difficult.

There are various feelings you may experience as the mite burrows. You can feel a pricking sensation on your skin when it begins to burrow and the scars that it leaves on your skin may be a zigzag, straight or any other line as it moves from one area of your body to the next to lay their eggs.

The areas in which the human mite lay eggs will pop up like a pimple like irritation. And may also puss, like a whitehead and it may be mistaken for a pimple except this pimple itches like heck.

The cause of the itching is due to secretions that the female makes when it lays eggs.

Another feeling you may have is as if something is crawling on your skin and there is no bug to be found. The crawling is everywhere and you can't get rid of it.

I can remember my daughter feeling itchy, at first, on her thighs between her legs. She would toss and turn, moan and groan at night. At first we thought it was prickling heat rash. I rubbed anti-itch cream on her and it did not work. I sat there watching her as she tried to sleep uncomfortably for months. I did not know what to make of it.

Then a few months later, my son came home one night and asked me to scratch his back. As I went to find the itch I could see nothing. I asked, "Where would you like me to scratch?" He replied, "everywhere, just scratch please".

As I rubbed some anti-itch cream on his back I could feel tiny little bites or itchy welts over his whole back. I was amazed. I thought, "oh my gosh, what in the world is this, and why do you have so many bumps all over your back".

A few days later, my younger daughter started having the same symptoms, then myself and my husband and now were were all feeling itchy. This is when I realized something was really wrong.

Then, I thought back on the previous encounters and sleep overs and found that the itching was coming from my mother. Whom, was still itching also for at least 6 months. An itch that will, never go away. I really mean it. Never go away, unless....you follow the directions to getting rid of scabies on my other page.

I have proof that the methods work as my whole family is now freed from endless itching nights.
