Facial Cold Sores or Herpes
Did you know that a cold sore is a form of herpes? Yes, it's Herpes Simplex Virus or HSV, Type I herpes. Yep, if you've ever had a cold sore, that unsightly thing on the outside of your lips then you've experienced an outbreak, yep, you got it. When you hear the word herpes you probably cringe. This is something I never really thought was true until 6 days ago. I'm not here to tell you what the HSV definition is, but to tell you about my naive knowledge about what I thought was a pimple and hopefully you will not wait as long as I did to get proper treatment before the virus becomes unbearable, painful, damaging to your skin and just plain gross. So, if you need a definition click on the link below. It will take you to site that has photos of the herpes virus or cold sores. A site I also accessed for to find out more about the virus.

Is Herpes Simplex an STD?
Is Herpes Simplex an STD? That was the first question that came to my mind. If it was, I couldn't understand how I had gotten it since I've only had slept with two people in my whole life. And I had taken an STD test and came out negative. So, I couldn't believe that I had a herpes outbreak. Worst of all, the place I got an outbreak was smack dab, on my forehead. After research and finally asking my doctor, I found that most everyone has herpes laying dormant waiting for your body to become weak so it can come out and pounce on you. Of course, a weakened immune system is what it is waiting for. Your body may become weak from the following: 1. A cold or flu 2. Stress 3. Exposure to the sun (can you believe that, I never knew that sun blisters was actually a form of herpes and if you have the right product to get rid of it quickly you wouldn't have to hurt for more than 5 days as your sore tries to heal. 4. Sometimes for no apparent reason.
